Smith was just surrendered to us. He was adopted as a puppy and kept as a guardian dog for chickens and sheep. His owner got new sheep and when one of them ate out of Smith food bowl (with oats in it) he attacked and killed it. 

Smith is a handsome, big friendly guy. We were told that he is a great family dog, good with kids and people.

Smith knows the commands sit, Platz (is german and means down) and hug me.
